Startable engages a dynamic network of educators, entrepreneurs, designers, and engineers from all across Southwestern, PA to facilitate its progressive curriculum. See a few highlighted below. 


Staci Offutt

Startable Program Associate

Staci runs Startable Pittsburgh, a youth entrepreneurship and maker program, which teaches students technology innovation in hardware product creation. She also assists AlphaLab Gear cohorts, helping the startups design their products and utilize onsite and community resources for prototype fabrication. Staci is an artist, maker, tinkerer and fabricator who has worked on the operations side of many different business models, including her own studio practice, cultural event production, and curatorial projects. She has a BFA from West Virginia University and an MFA from Parsons, The New School. 


Kelly Day

Startable Mentor

Kelly Day in an entrepreneur with an eclectic background. She’s a professional graphic designer who has worked with architecture firms, in retail, technology, politics, and music . Most recently Kelly opened a brick and mortar vintage retail store in the Northside of Pittsburgh called Mustard & Relics. She also spins vinyl as DJ KellyMom for her Kid City Rockers dance parties which are geared toward preschool aged children. Kelly is a returning mentor and will offer workshops in her area of expertise, marketing, web, and graphic design.


Justin Harvilla

Startable Mentor

Justin Harvilla began his career as a sculptor and character designer after graduating from Tom Savini’s Special Makeup Effects Program and has worked in the makerspace and entertainment industries using cutting-edge technology tools, developing prototypes, fabrication work, and delivering educational experiences. He recently began exploring glass lamp working techniques where his focus is on creating anatomically correct and fantastical insects. Justin in a returning mentor and will serve as a Lead Maker Mentor for the Startable Greene Cohort.
